Analysis of Facebook Components

• Upload profile picture
• Upload personal information, Employer, School studied at, University Studied at, Location, relationship Status, Date of Birth, Spoken Language, home town, favourite sport team, favourite music, favourite television programme, activities you enjoy, personal information about yourself, what gender you are interested in, phone number and email address.
• Create notes about yourself and other people.
• Create pages for you and others to follow.
• Subscribe to pages.
• Can create a facebook family to show who you are related to.
• Invite people to be your friend who can see all you information.
• Keep your profile private ( for just friends) or Public for others to see.
• Each profile contains a wall for people to write messages too ( a way for communication)
• You can like comments on your wall or what other people have written.
• You can poke a friend on facebook.
• You can ‘FRAPE’ a person by hijacking another person’s profile and writing a status.
• You can create private groups for events.
• You can create and invite people to events.
• You can see if people are listening to any sort or music whilst on facebook.
• You can upload videos which people can be tagged in, commented on and liked.
• You can upload photos to create albums which people can be tagged in commented on and liked.
• You can tag yourself into a location for all people to see where you are.

Facebook within society – posted 19th March

Looking into the world of facebook, it becomes clear how much of society is ruled by soical networking. Facebook has only been around for a couple of years, and already it is known to most human beings. Therefore it is no surprise that it can become the centre of people lives. For the younger ages it can be seen as a way to socialise with friends and family, for youths is can be seen as a ‘work distraction’ and for older ages you could say it reconnects people. Although Facebook can be shown as a positive in many ways, people do not realise the effects it can have on people and how it can come to rule ones life. With this in mind, social networking can be seen within a negative light, producing people interfering with other peoples lifes and provides unwanted visitors.  Therefore it can be interesting to reflect how facebook can influence people, reveal news to the world and produce mishap.
